The bad: they will hold water between the cover and inflatable that you should drain or it gets heavy and nasty inside. My back would arch too much and cause pain. It's nice and big. The vinyl fabric covering the float is solid and covers just right without any loose material. The removable pillow is an awesome feature! Couple had minor flaws like failed baffle (but still usable). However when you remove the mattress from the water it will be fairly heavy due to water ingress. I'll occasionally have to add some air from time-to-time but it has not popped or deflated at all. Yes, as you float around water will enter between the cover and actual mattress. You don't have to do anything special, just let it drain for a few minutes. Gonna buy 2 more. ****** Update#2: 6th and 7th purchases just inflated - no issues. So our pool water seems to always be sooo cold - even on hot days. We have never had an air leak issue over the last 10-12 years of use of 5 of these things! Once out stand it upright (zipper end to the floor) and it will quickly drain. The pillow comes off easily enough and made it so much more tolerable. I cannot believe how durable this mattress is for the price. Yes, as you float around water will enter between the cover and actual mattress. I have spent this much (or more) on several mattresses/floats over the past 2 yrs.
